Dual study in Hanover

The dual study program is a special form of study that combines practical training with university studies. Theoretical phases at a university or university of cooperative education alternate with practical phases in the company. The aim of dual studies is to provide students with practical skills and knowledge in addition to sound theoretical knowledge.

The practical phases can look very different depending on the course of study and the company. In some cases, they are block internships lasting several weeks or months. In other cases, students complete regular practical phases at the company on set days per week or month.

The dual study program offers the advantage that students gain an early insight into practical work and can already gain valuable work experience during their studies. In addition, dual study programs are often linked to a training contract and remuneration, which enables financial independence during the course of study.

The courses of study offered in the dual system are very diverse and range from classic engineering and business administration courses to specialized courses such as nursing management or event management.

Here is an overview of some interesting study programs for dual studies in Hannover:

Here you can study NC-free at private universities in Hannover

Private universities often have a specific focus on certain courses of study or professional fields and can also be an interesting alternative to state universities for students. Apart from dual courses of study, where a training company often assumes the costs, private universities are, however, usually associated with higher costs for the studies due to fees incurred.

Unlike state universities, however, most private universities in Germany are able to offer many places without a numerus clausus (NC). This gives applicants a greater chance of studying their desired course without having to settle for another subject because of their grade point average.

This is what private universities in Hannover have to say about the NC:

Leibniz University of Applied Sciences: „Studying at a private university such as Leibniz University of Applied Sciences is associated with higher financial expenses than at a state university, but our study conditions are excellent and we look at the individual and not only at formal requirements such as the NC when selecting applicants.“ - FAQ

FHM University of Applied Sciences: „The study programs at FHM are not subject to a numerus clausus (NC).“ - FAQ

CRMS: „No. Depending on the course of study/training, admission days or interviews are held, the results of which are considered decisive.“ - FAQ

IU: „There is no numerus clausus at IU - instead, you will have an interview with your student advisor.“ - über die Zulassung

FOM: „No. At the FOM University of Applied Sciences, you only need to present a high school diploma or vocational baccalaureate.“ - FAQ

HAM: „No, at the University of Applied Management you can study NC-free in the Bachelor's program as well as in the Master's program. The university allocates study places primarily according to the date of receipt of the application and on the basis of the letter of motivation.“ - FAQ

DIPLOMA: „We want to encourage everyone to train or further their education via a bachelor's or master's degree program, completely independent of a numerus clausus [...] The chance to start a degree program should not only be determined by good school grades, but above all by individual commitment and the willingness to further qualify oneself professionally!“ - Grußwort
