Admission Requirements Psychology (B.Sc.) (Focus: Clinical Psychology & Psychotherapy)
The University of Applied Sciences for Management & Communication (FHM) is a state-recognised private university. Therefore, students must meet at least the same formal admissions requirements as would be required for admission to a comparable course of study at a public university.
The formal requirement for admission to the Bachelor's degree programme B.Sc. Psychology at FHM is the General University Entrance Qualification. In addition, English language skills at level B2/C1 must be proven on the high school diploma. Alternatively, a Toefl test with at least 72 (up to 120 points) or a Cambridge Certificate with B2, C1 or C2 can be submitted as proof. You also have the option to take an English language test at FHM in advance to demonstrate your English language skills.

Your path to psychotherapy: Become a psychotherapist without a numerus clausus (NC) under the new law. Our Bachelor's degree programme B. Sc. Psychology opens up the path to psychotherapy for you. Together with the University of Gloucestershire, we have developed the B.Sc. Psychology as a Dual Degree. Within this international programme, you will achieve two degrees within three years of study - the B.Sc. Psychology (Clinical Psychology) from FHM and the B.Sc. Psychology (Clinical & Psychotherapy) from the University of Gloucestershire.
With this degree, you meet the requirements of the Law on the Profession of Psychotherapists (PsychThG) and the corresponding Licensing Regulations for Psychotherapists (PsychThApprO).
Your path to licensure
The programme covers all modules necessary for access to a university Master's programme in Clinical Psychology in Germany. With this degree, you also meet the requirements of the Law on the Profession of Psychotherapists (PsychThG) and the corresponding Licensing Regulations for Psychotherapists (PsychThApprO).
A university Master's programme is a prerequisite for the state examination for approval as a psychotherapist under the PsychThG. With your degree, you can apply for such a Master's programme place at a university. The Master's programme in Clinical Psychology is usually subject to restricted admission. Admission decisions are made by the offering universities.

The University of Applied Sciences of the Middle Stand (FHM) together with the University of Gloucestershire has developed the B.Sc. Psychology programme. With this programme, you will achieve two degrees within three years of study - in both English and German. Your lectures will take place at our campus in Bielefeld and at the University of Gloucestershire campus.
