The Dual Study Programme in Crafts Management at the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM) uniquely combines dual vocational training, master craftsman qualification, and academic studies in just 4.5 years. It is specially designed for those who aim to take on a specialist or leadership position in crafts without any loss of time. The programme offers comprehensive theoretical and practical content developed in close cooperation with the crafts industry.
Participants acquire extensive knowledge in normative, strategic, operative, and regulatory crafts management as well as in performance utilisation processes. The management skills cover areas such as micro-/macroeconomics, innovation management, business organisation and planning, controlling and financial management, marketing and sales, personnel planning and recruitment, as well as the development of business plans and digital business models.
In the area of smart skills, courses are offered in business English, team management, presentation, moderation and negotiation, as well as academic work. Practical application and deepening of the learnt material take place through practical studies and business simulation games.
The degree qualifies graduates to take on leadership roles in small and medium-sized craft enterprises that face the challenges of a globalised and technologically changing world.
