- Alternatively: Professional qualification (study without A-levels) – which requires:
- Completed advanced further training (e.g. as a certified business economist, master craftsman's certificate)
- Or: A completed vocational training plus at least three years of full-time work experience
- Application Deadlines: Applications are possible up to one month before the annual start of studies (April 1st, October 1st).
- No Numerus Clausus (NC): There is no specific grade point average required for the degree programme. Admission is independent of the A-level grades.
- Practical partner required: For the dual study programme, a practical placement (20 hours/week) at a company or institution in the healthcare sector is a requirement. The university assists in finding a practical partner.

How does the Dual Health Management Study work?
At IU, you study in a dual study program in one of the following two study models. In the Dual Study program, classes take place on campus two days a week - occasionally also online via live video conferencing. Subsequently, the learned content is deepened with the help of study materials. The Dual myStudy combines flexible self-study with digital learning formats. Through myCampus, you independently acquire the theory - supported by innovative learning materials and Syntea, your personal AI learning assistant. Optionally, you can participate in weekly virtual accompanying events and use other interactive live formats for deepening your knowledge.
The study is designed to be practice-integrated and offers, depending on the study model:
- Dual Studies: Presence or online classes on two weekdays, additional self-study with study materials. You deepen the acquired knowledge directly in your everyday work.
- Dual myStudy: Self-study is done flexibly with digital learning materials and a learning AI, complemented by regular virtual accompanying events.
- Practice partners: You spend 20 hours a week at a company or a healthcare facility, gaining practical experience and immediately implementing what you have learned.
- Duration of studies: Both models usually last for 7 semesters.
- Start of studies: There are 2 starting dates per year (April, October). Applications are possible up to 1 month before the start of the studies.
