bbw Hochschule

The bbw University - University of Applied Sciences is a private, state-recognized university based in Berlin-Adlershof. It was founded in 2007 and is supported by the bbw Academy for Business Continuing Education GmbH. The founding took place in cooperation with the bbw Education Center for the Economy in Berlin and Brandenburg, the Business Associations Berlin-Brandenburg (UVB) as well as the University of Applied Sciences for Engineering and Economics Berlin. With currently around 691 students (as of Winter Semester 2024/2025), it is one of the larger private universities in the Berlin-Brandenburg region.

The university offers bachelor's and master's degree programs in the fields of business, engineering, and industrial engineering. The business programs include, among others, Health Management, Trade Management, Real Estate Management, and International Business Management. In the field of engineering, programs such as Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering are offered.

The study content is highly practice-oriented and developed in close collaboration with companies and associations. A special focus is on internationalization, digitalization, as well as promoting diversity and sustainability. In addition to traditional forms of study, project-based learning methods, e-learning, and research and development projects are integrated into the curriculum.

The study can be done either full-time, dual, or part-time. A particularly outstanding feature is the dual study model, which enables a direct connection between study and practice.

The university works closely with numerous partners from business and research. These cooperations offer students a wide range of opportunities for internships, business projects, and guest lectures. The bbw University actively supports its students in entering the job market and places great emphasis on individual support and open communication.

The fib Research Institute of the university follows an application-oriented approach and is involved in knowledge and technology transfer as well as involving students in ongoing research projects. International partnerships with universities in Europe, Asia, and Africa strengthen global academic exchange and promote the international mobility of students and lecturers.

The bbw University is accredited by the German Council of Science and Humanities and system-accredited by FIBAA. All degree programs are accredited and state-recognized.
