The EBS University of Economics and Law (EBS) is a private university with two main faculties: the EBS Business School and the EBS Law School. The academic offering is complemented by the EBS Executive School, which focuses on part-time further education programmes.

The Business School offers degree programmes in business studies at bachelor’s, master’s, and MBA levels. Students can pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Business Studies with various specialisations or a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Law, Politics and Economics. The EBS Law School offers a full-fledged law degree with an additional business qualification. It leads to the First State Examination (formerly 1st State Examination) and, after three years of study, also awards the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree. An integrated semester abroad and the possibility of obtaining a Master’s degree in economics after the examination complement the profile. Doctoral opportunities exist in both faculties.

Admission to the programme is through a multi-stage selection process. This includes an online application, an interview, and written tests on analytical thinking, English proficiency, and motivation. There is no fixed NC - performance, personality, and suitability are crucial.

The bachelor's programme at the Business School lasts for six regular semesters. It is clearly structured and begins with basic business fundamentals. Over the course of the programme, students specialise in elective modules. A mandatory semester abroad, as well as practice-oriented project work and internships, are firmly anchored in the curriculum. The law programme at the EBS Law School spans eight semesters. It consists of a three-semester basic course, a main course with an integrated semester abroad, and a specialist course with legal specialisation. Exams take place every five weeks in block teaching - a special didactic concept that enables intensive knowledge transfer in short learning units. Preparation for the state legal examination is integrated into the curriculum.

In addition to traditional lectures, seminars, tutorials, case studies, and group projects are standard. Students regularly work in teams on practical issues and present their results. Close connections to the business world and continuous performance feedback are integral parts of the study culture.

The main campus of EBS University is located in Oestrich-Winkel in the Rheingau. Here, you will find the Rheingau Campus, nestled in a historic setting with vineyards and a direct view of the Rhine. The heart of the campus is Schloss Reichartshausen, a traditional building housing modern lecture halls, seminar rooms, and administrative offices.

As a private university, EBS charges tuition fees that are higher than those at state universities. A bachelor's degree in business costs around 54,000 euros in total. For a law degree, you should expect total costs of over 60,000 euros due to its two extra semesters. Master's programmes range from around 24,000 to 30,000 euros depending on the specialisation.

These amounts generally include all study services, examinations, and administrative fees. A one-time enrolment fee is also charged. The semester ticket for public transport is included in the fees.

In addition, living costs, especially for rent, meals, insurance, and learning materials, should be considered. Depending on the location and lifestyle, you should budget between 700 and 1,200 euros per month. Costs for the semester abroad, excursions, or additional software licences should also be factored in.

EBS offers various financing options, including merit scholarships, partial scholarships, low-interest loans through the alumni association, as well as collaborations with educational funds and banks. Students can also benefit from government funding or external scholarships. A special bonus is granted for early enrolment.
