German International University (GIU)

The German International University (GIU Berlin) is a nationally recognized private university based in Berlin, founded in 2019. It offers research and practice-oriented study programs in English that comply with German and international standards. Students benefit from the opportunity to have their achievements recognized under the Bologna Declaration and have access to advanced study programs such as master's or doctoral programs at German universities.

GIU Berlin offers a total of 14 programs in the fields of engineering, management, architecture, and design. The bachelor's offer includes programs in Media Engineering and Technology, Information Engineering and Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, Architecture, Management, and Design, among others. At the master's level, specialized programs like M.Sc. Media Engineering and Technology, M.Sc. Information Engineering and Technology, M.Sc. Mechatronics Engineering, M.Sc. Architecture, various management focuses, and M.A. in Design are offered.

GIU promotes international exchange through intercultural events, German-language teaching, and cultural offerings. The university specifically addresses international students and supports them through a structured admission process, which includes aptitude tests and language exams. A particular feature is the opportunity for a dual degree in collaboration with partner universities.

The research focus of the university lies in the areas of technology, management, and design. Current research fields include machine learning, intelligent systems, behavioral economics, sustainable agriculture, design research, as well as IoT and Edge Computing. GIU has its own Center for Research and Transfer to promote interdisciplinary cooperation and scientific excellence.

The campus in Berlin-Tegel offers modern facilities, including PC pools, Wi-Fi, a library, copying and printing facilities, a cafeteria, relaxation areas, lockers, and silent work areas.

Tuition fees at GIU Berlin amount to 3,715 euros per semester. This includes all classes and administrative services according to the study plan. Not included are the semester ticket (approx. 176 euros), the fee for the admission test (80 euros), as well as living expenses and health insurance. The university offers various payment options, including one-time payment, payment in two installments per semester, and monthly payment plans starting from the second semester.

GIU is part of the Erasmus+ program and is committed to the international mobility of students and staff. The International Office serves as the central point of contact for all international activities of the university.
