Which formal admission requirements must you meet?
To be admitted to the Master in Finance at EBS University, you need a first university degree (bachelor’s or equivalent) with at least 180 ECTS credits. The subject area of your first degree is not restricted. A current Transcript of Records is sufficient for the application if the final certificate is not yet available. For the shortened Accelerated Track (60 ECTS, two semesters), a bachelor’s degree with at least 240 ECTS or alternatively a lower ECTS total plus relevant full-time work experience of at least 6–12 months in a finance-related field is required. Additionally, proof of English language skills is necessary (e.g. TOEFL iBT min. 95, IELTS min. 7, Duolingo min. 125 or equivalent certificates). If you have completed an English-language degree, are a native speaker, or have at least two years of professional experience in an English-speaking country, the language proof is waived. Furthermore, a numerical aptitude test is required (GMAT, GRE, Business Admissions Test, EBSgrad Test, CAT or CFA Level 1 – the latter is not sufficient for the Semester Abroad Track). An individual selection interview to clarify motivation and social skills is part of the application procedure.
You should bring well-developed analytical skills, an affinity for numbers, and an interest in international financial topics. Commitment, self-initiative, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility are expected. Experience in handling data, presentation techniques, or initial practical experience in the financial world are advantageous but not mandatory. Course Structure
The Master’s degree in Finance lasts regularly four semesters (120 ECTS) and is carried out full-time. The programme has an international orientation and is taught entirely in English. You benefit from a flexible structure that allows for different study paths:
- Semester 1: Introduction with core modules and onboarding project, acquisition of solid theoretical and practical foundations.
- Semester 2: Specialisation in elective modules, deepening in practical project with corporate partners.
- Semester 3:

- Practice Track: Internship in a company with strong practical orientation.
- Semester 4: Completion of the Master’s thesis, optionally in cooperation with companies or from abroad.
Alternatively, you can choose the Accelerated Track and complete the degree with appropriate prior education in just two semesters (60 ECTS). In the Semester Abroad Track, there is additionally the possibility to pursue an international double degree.
