Details

The health and social care sector is one of the booming industries in the German economy, yet it is under considerable pressure: competition is increasing, and effectiveness and efficiency have become the yardsticks. To successfully position themselves in the market, organisations must fill leadership positions with professionals who think and act in a business-oriented manner without losing sight of the sector’s idealistic values and goals.

The Bachelor's degree programme in Health and Social Management imparts business management knowledge as well as overarching management skills for institutions in the health and social care sector. You analyse the tasks and objectives of the market actors as well as the tension between business management goals without losing sight of humanitarian aspects. You engage with the structure of the health and social care system, learning about key stakeholders and the various management levels involved. By choosing a specialisation, you can focus either on health management or on social management.

In addition, you learn to analyse your own strengths and areas for development, develop individual learning strategies, and receive support in systematically enhancing your professional and personal competencies.

The programme thus specifically prepares you for a responsible role in health and social care, for example in hospitals, care facilities, health insurance companies, or social institutions.
