What formal entry requirements do you have to meet?
To gain admission to the Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management at Hochschule Fresenius, you must meet one of the following conditions:
- General university entrance qualification (Abitur) or advanced technical college entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife)
- Subject-specific university entrance qualification in a suitable field
- Completed vocational training of at least 2 years plus at least 2 years’ professional experience in a related field and a passed subject-specific university entrance examination
- Master craftsman examination, business administrator, technician or management assistant qualification (at least 400 hours of instruction) in a relevant occupational field, also with a passed university entrance examination
- For intermediate school-leaving certificate and completed vocational training of at least 3 years (final grade 2.5 or better), there is the possibility of starting studies after passing a corresponding study agreement (e.g. achieving 18 credit points in the 1st semester)
If you do not have a university entrance qualification, an individual selection procedure usually takes place, which may also include counselling sessions and examination components. Professionally acquired prior achievements can be credited after assessment.
You should have an interest in economic and healthcare-specific contexts, problem-solving skills and be willing to engage with the study content independently and in an organised manner. Analytical skills, communication strength and empathy towards patients and various stakeholders are helpful. How Is the Distance Learning Course Organised?
The course is flexibly tailored to you and can be combined with work and everyday life. The programme comprises a total of 180 ECTS and can be completed in different time models:
- Full-time study: 6 semesters (equivalent to 3 years)
- Part-time study: Option for 8 or up to 12 semesters for maximum flexibility
The distance learning course is organised entirely online. You decide when and where you study. Exams can, in many cases, be taken online, partly even 24/7. You can start every month – a classic semester system does not exist.
Interaction with lecturers and fellow students takes place via the digital learning platform Canvas. Study coaches support you organisationally and academically. During your studies, you complete compulsory and elective modules and independently work on coursework, essays or presentations. For your final assignment, you write your Bachelor's thesis on an individual topic.
