👉 The Master Fashion Management (M.A.) is aimed at graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Fashion or Design Management and related fields who aim for leadership positions in the international fashion industry. You will deepen your knowledge in product development, marketing, brand and sales management, and can specialise in one of four areas. The programme is practice-oriented, includes online and block events, and integrates project work with partner companies. Digitalization, sustainability, and digital fashion are central themes. An internship before the master's thesis is optional.

The Master's programme in Fashion Management (M.A.) is aimed at graduates who already have a connection to fashion, design or related areas and want to qualify specifically for management and leadership roles in the fashion and lifestyle industry. You are ideal if you want to work in product management, brand management, marketing, fashion design, fashion technology, or related fields in the fashion industry or switch to them. The full-time master's programme is also suitable for those who are already working in the industry and want to complement their practical knowledge academically. With the choice of specializations (product, brand, sales, society), you can tailor the course to your interests and career goals.

Admission requirements for the Master's programme in Fashion Management

In summary, you must meet the following formal criteria:

  • Completed Bachelor's degree with at least 210 ECTS credits in one of the following degree programs:
  • If your degree is not directly relevant: filling in missing content with bridging courses is possible.
  • Possibly providing evidence of additional required technical competencies – this will be individually assessed by the university and communicated.
  • Proof of a specific final grade may be required (depending on the individual application profile and possibly the university's requirements).

The course is taught in German. Therefore, adequate German language skills in speaking and writing are required.

How is the Master's programme Fashion Management (M.A.) structured?

The Master's programme follows a clear semester structure and combines online phases with presence elements. You benefit from a flexible, student-centred workflow.

  • Teaching Format: 50% Online events (live), 50% practical phases and presence elements.
  • Presence Blocks: Three block weeks (two in the first, one in the second semester). The courses take place from Thursday afternoons to Saturday each time.
  • Semester Overview:
    • 1st Semester: Fundamentals of Fashion Management, Empirical Research, Global and Innovation Management. Choice between Brand or Product module with real project work. Knowledge share: 60%, Practice share: 40%.
    • 2nd Semester: Choosing a specialisation module (Product, Brand, Sales, or Society) with in-depth practical elements. Knowledge and practice share each 50%.
    • 3rd Semester: Writing the Master's Thesis (100%). Possibility for an internship or for a semester abroad to extend the study to a fourth semester.
  • Additional offers through StudyPLUS: Job-oriented IT and language courses, application coaching, guest lectures, career days, and access to a job portal.
  • Language of Instruction: German.
