Admission Requirements
In order to commence a university degree at the AMD Academy of Fashion and Design, applicants must provide proof of the qualification required for the course of study (university entrance qualification). This can be demonstrated by:
- general university entrance qualification (Abitur), which entitles you to study at all universities and in all federal states,
- or the subject-specific university entrance qualification, which entitles you to study in the corresponding subject area and in the federal states specified on the certificate,
- or the university of applied sciences entrance qualification, which entitles you to study at a university of applied sciences or in a structured degree program at a university in the federal states specified on the certificate.
Alternatively, admission is possible without Abitur or university of applied sciences entrance qualification, provided the following applies:
- You have passed a master craftsman’s examination.
- Or you hold a qualification according to the ordinance on access for professionally qualified persons to universities in the state of Hesse, i.e. either a professional advanced training qualification of at least 400 hours, the qualification from a technical school or a vocational or administrative academy, or a passed final examination in a state-recognised training profession with subsequent at least three years of professional experience and passing a separate university entrance examination.
- For foreign qualifications, equivalence for admission must be demonstrated.

Course Content and Specialisations
This Bachelor's degree programme qualifies you for management roles in the fashion, lifestyle and consumer goods industries. The programme combines solid theory with strong practical relevance – for example through internships, corporate partnerships and trade fair visits.
The curriculum includes the following modules:
- Semesters 1–3: Team building, presentation, management, marketing, communication, trend analysis, business administration, economics, accounting, statistics, finance and investment, design law, retail management and e-commerce, textile technology, clothing technology, fashion and design history, academic work, design methodology, technical drawing, visual communication, computer applications
- Semester 4: Internship
- Semesters 5–6: Strategic management, international management, leadership, price management and product management, human resource management, communication management, quality management, cost and performance accounting, supply chain management, controlling, company project, textile technology, clothing technology, fashion theory, material technology, fashion in context, IT applications, elective modules
- Semester 7: Business start-up, application preparation, career planning, bachelor supervision, bachelor thesis, bachelor colloquium
During your studies, you will also specialise in exciting elective modules, for example in communication, retail, events or digital media.

- Innovation Management & Design, B.A.: This AMD degree combines management and design expertise and is accordingly located at the interface between management and creativity. Students are trained to be change managers and networkers over 7 semesters. You can study either in Munich or Wiesbaden.
