Admission: What requirements do you need to meet?
The following formal admission requirements are decisive for enrollment in the Bachelor's degree programme in Sports Management (B.A.):
- General university entrance qualification (Abitur) or
- Advanced technical college entrance qualification or
- Subject-specific university entrance qualification
- Professionally qualified individuals with a completed vocational training of at least two years plus subsequent professional experience of at least three years in the trained occupation are granted access according to the legal regulations of the respective federal state.
- Having passed a master craftsman examination or an equivalent advanced vocational training (e. g. specialist business administrator, technician) also enables admission.
For applicants with a completed commercial vocational training, the duration of study can be shortened to 6 semesters. A Numerus Clausus (NC) is not provided. German language skills at university level are mandatory as the programme is conducted in German.
Important personal requirements include a pronounced interest in sport, business management issues, and management processes in the sports industry. Practical experience in the sports environment, for example through employment, voluntary work or club activities, is an advantage. How Does the Degree Programme Work?
The programme is organised as a part-time course and usually lasts seven semesters. You participate in virtual live lectures that take place 1–2 evenings per week and up to two Saturdays a month. The courses are held online via the Hochschule Fresenius Online Campus. This makes you independent of your place of residence and allows you to participate flexibly in the courses.
You can take most of the exams online. Additionally, there are six examination centres in Germany if you prefer to take exams on site. During your studies, you work on practice-oriented project assignments and prepare specifically for the bachelor’s thesis in the final semester. If you have completed a commercial vocational training, it is possible to shorten the programme to six semesters.
