Details

Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary field of engineering sciences. It combines mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science. Mechatronics is used, among other things, in the design of electronically controlled machines and vehicles. The discipline breathes "life" into machines through electronics and software. Mechatronics is a key factor in development and production, especially in robotics, electronically controlled drives, as well as in networked devices and machines of Industry 4.0. In the course of the development of new, intelligent machines, digitalisation in industry and production, and the development of new types of drives, mechatronic qualifications are becoming increasingly important.

In the 6-semester on-campus degree course "Mechatronics" (B.Eng.), you gain competencies in the essential areas of mechatronics, learning to link and apply them. You acquire knowledge to develop machines according to the current state of the art, initiate improvements and modernisations, and implement innovative ideas in practice.

During your studies, you can also choose your personal, professionally oriented focus to further deepen your skills.

The specialisations in the Bachelor's degree course Mechatronics are:
• Automotive systems
• Robotics
• Electromobility
