Details

Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary field of engineering sciences. It combines mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science. Mechatronics is applied, among other things, in the design of electronically controlled machines and vehicles. The discipline breathes “life” into machines through electronics and software. Mechatronics is a key development and production factor, especially in robotics, electronically controlled drives, and networked devices and machines of Industry 4.0. In the course of developing new, intelligent machines, digitalisation in industry and production, as well as the development of new types of drives, mechatronic qualifications are becoming increasingly important.

In the 7-semester (online) distance learning programme “Mechatronics” (B.Eng.) you acquire competencies in the essential areas of mechatronics, learning to link and apply them. You gain knowledge to develop machines according to the latest technical standards, initiate improvements and modernisations, and implement innovative ideas in practice.

During your studies, you can also choose your personal, professionally oriented specialisation to further deepen your skills.

The specialisations in the bachelor’s degree course in Mechatronics are:
• Automotive Systems
• Robotics
• Electromobility

Course structure
At DIPLOMA University you have the option to study the bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics in one of three formats: as an online course, as an on-site distance learning course, or as classroom-based study.

The (online) distance learning programme at DIPLOMA University is designed according to the “blended learning” principle. This means you work through the study materials using study booklets and attend seminars. These usually take place on 12 to 14 Saturdays per semester – occasionally also on weekday evenings. In the online study mode, these take place as live online seminars. You can also take your exams online or at an examination centre of your choice. In on-site distance learning, you attend your physical presence seminars and exams at your chosen study centre – in Regenstauf.

Costs & start of studies
The (online) distance learning programme at DIPLOMA University starts every year in the summer semester (April) and winter semester (October). After individual assessment, it is also possible to start your studies at any other time.

You can choose from four financing models. For example, the instalment model 3, with €207.00 per month and a duration of 60 months. For further instalment models and all other information about the degree programme, please visit the Mechatronics degree programme page.
