Admission requirements
For the traditional Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, you need the advanced technical college entrance qualification or the Abitur. Particularly good grades in the subjects of Mathematics and Computer Science are required here.
Your Classic Mechatronics Degree at PHWT
Your path to a responsible position in the industry
Just 20 years ago, most technical systems functioned purely mechanically. Today, mechanical systems are increasingly being equipped with state-of-the-art electronics and automated. To be able to develop these mechatronic systems, specialists are needed who feel confident at the interfaces of engineering disciplines and computer science.
The coined term Mechatronics expresses the integration of three disciplines: mechanics, electrical engineering or electronics, and computer science. The degree programme offers a comprehensive insight into the three disciplines and combines them with engineering sciences.
The first impression may give a complicated picture of the course, but appearances are deceptive: The technical modules are almost identical and complement each other. The special feature of the classic mechatronics degree is that once learned methods can be applied to all other subject areas.
The classic Mechatronics degree is just right for you if…
… you enjoy hands-on activities such as screwing and soldering.
… you have an interest in programming and coding.
… you want to broaden your horizons to other areas linked to mechatronics.
… you find it exciting to bring together mechanical and electrical components.
… you have already dealt somewhat with the topic of mechatronics and were able to gain experience.
