Admission requirements
Educational Qualification: German Abitur, Fachabitur, or an equivalent foreign qualification is required. Foreign qualifications must be deemed equivalent by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB), varying by country (e.g. US High School Diploma, IB-Diploma, GCE A-Levels).
Types of Admission:
Direct Access: Entitles to enrol in a course in any or only in the previously studied subject area.
Subject-Restricted Access to Studienkolleg: Requires additional study times or an assessment test (FSP) before commencing studies.
No Access: In case of lack of equivalent educational qualification, further qualifications are necessary.
Qualification Adjustment Options:
Study Time: Enrollment in a first-year Bachelor's program in the same subject area (accredited and with a successful completion).
Studienkolleg and Assessment Test (FSP): A preparatory course as a bridge between the current qualification and access to German universities. T- or G-courses are intended for Architecture and Design, with proficiency in German required.
English Proficiency:
A proof of at least B2 level of the CEFR is required. Accepted tests include TOEFL ITP (543), TOEFL IBT (74), IELTS (6.0), Cambridge FCE (B2), PTE Academic (59), and other equivalent proofs. Certificates must not be older than two years.
No language test necessary if secondary school was completed in an English-speaking country or a Bachelor's degree was entirely in English.

The Bachelor's programme in Interior Architecture at Berlin International prepares students to develop and implement creative and sustainable solutions in the field of interior architecture. The programme is closely connected to Berlin's dynamic creative scene and is taught in English to prepare students for an international work environment. Through a variety of projects and practice-oriented teaching, students develop their individual talents and skills.
In the first year of study, students acquire basic design skills and engage with material knowledge, interior construction, and visualization. In the second year, knowledge is further deepened in areas such as building services, lighting, and theoretical foundations. The third year focuses on interdisciplinary collaboration with other departments as well as completing an internship. At the end of the programme, students work on a Bachelor's thesis and a design project.
Graduates of Interior Architecture have a wide range of career opportunities, from working in design and architecture studios to freelance work. The programme is unique in Germany as it fulfills the requirements of the Architects' Chamber, enabling registration as an interior architect.
