Admission Requirements

With your B.A. in Interior Architecture, you can work, for example, in design offices, interior design offices, or communication and graphic design agencies.

In order to enroll in a university program at the AMD Academy Mode & Design, prospective students must demonstrate the necessary qualification (university entrance qualification) required for the program. This can be demonstrated by:

• the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), which entitles you to study at all universities and in all federal states,
• or the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, which entitles you to study in the relevant subject area and in the federal states specified in the certificate,
• or the vocational higher education entrance qualification, which entitles you to study at a university of applied sciences or in a tiered degree program at a university in the federal states specified in the certificate.

Alternatively, you can also be admitted without having Abitur or a vocational higher education entrance qualification. For admission without Abitur, the following is required:

• You have passed a master craftsman examination.
• Or you have a qualification according to the Regulation on Access of Professionally Qualified Persons to Universities in the State of Hessen, which includes either a qualification from a vocational advanced training course of at least 400 hours, completion of a technical school, or completion of a vocational or administrative academy, or passing an examination in a state-recognized training occupation followed by at least three years of professional experience and passing a separate university entrance examination.
• For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be demonstrated for admission.

Study Contents and Specializations

In addition to working on real projects, you will also learn to integrate sustainability principles into your designs and understand the importance of architectural theory. Supported by a team of experienced lecturers and in a creative and interdisciplinary environment, this program prepares you to shape the interior design industry.

The study plan includes the following modules:

• 1st Semester: Onboarding in Design Studies, Spatial Design I, Drawing Techniques & Communication, Design Methodology I, Realization Skills, History and Theories of Architecture I
• 2nd Semester: Basic Principles of Sustainability, Spatial Design II, Drawing Techniques & Communication, Design Methodology II, Realization Skills, History and Theories of Architecture II
• 3rd Semester: Spring/Autumn Academy, Spatial Design III, Drawing Techniques & Communication, Design Methodology III, Realization Skills, History and Theories of Architecture III, History and Theories of Architecture IV
• 4th Semester: Spring/Autumn Academy, Realization Skills, Drawing Techniques & Communication, Spatial Design IV, Realization Skills, Project Management & Presentation Techniques, Elective Module
• 5th Semester: Internship
• 6th Semester: Spring/Autumn Academy, Spatial Design Group Project, Realization Skills, Building Economics, Realization Skills, History and Theories of Architecture V
• 7th Semester: Law for Interior Architects, Bachelor Disputation, Bachelor Thesis, Exhibition/Documentation

During the course of the program, you will also delve into exciting elective modules, such as Digital Media, Object Design, Design in Context, or Start-Up.
