Admission Requirements
To be able to start a university study at the AMD Academy of Fashion and Design, applicants must demonstrate the qualification required for the study (university entrance qualification). This can be demonstrated by:
- the general qualification for university entrance (Abitur), which entitles you to study at all universities and in all federal states,
- or the subject-specific qualification for university entrance, which entitles you to study in the corresponding subject area and in the federal states specified in the certificate,
- or the university of applied sciences entrance qualification, which entitles you to study at a university of applied sciences or in a tiered degree program at a university in the federal states specified in the certificate.
Alternatively, you can also be admitted without an Abitur or university of applied sciences entrance qualification. Provided the following for studying without an Abitur:
- You have passed a master's examination.
- Or you have a qualification in accordance with the regulation on access for professionally qualified persons to universities in the state of Hesse, i.e., either a qualification from a vocational advanced training course of at least 400 hours, a qualification from a technical school or a vocational or administrative academy, or a passed final examination in a state-recognized training occupation followed by at least three years of professional experience and passing a separate university entrance examination.
- For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be demonstrated for admission.

Study Contents and Specializations
The focus of this AMD course is on the conception, design, and planning of spaces and spatial objects. Over 7 semesters, you will learn about design-artistic processes and engage intensively with analytical-planning methods.
The study plan includes the following modules:
- 1–3 Semesters: Introduction, Manual and Digital Drawing Techniques I, II, III, Visual Communication I, II, III, Fundamentals of Spatial Design I, II, III, Cultural History of Design I, II, III, Design with Digital Media I, Narrative Spaces, Elective Module
- 4th Semester: Design with Digital Media II, Design in Context, Theory of Architecture I, Elective Module
- 5th Semester: Internship
- 6th Semester: Theory of Architecture II, Marketing, Technical Development, Spatial Concept
- 7th Semester: Bachelor Phase, Exhibition Documentation
During the course of your studies, you will also delve into exciting elective modules, such as Digital Media, Object Design, Design in Context, or Start Up.
