Berlin International University of Applied Sciences

The Berlin International University of Applied Sciences, formerly BAU International Berlin - University of Applied Sciences, is a state-recognized, non-profit private university of applied sciences in Berlin. It was founded in 2014 and is supported by the "B.A.U. Higher Education Service gGmbH," registered in the state of Berlin. In the winter semester of 2024/2025, it had 522 students.

The university sees itself as an internationally oriented institution with an intercultural profile. Students and staff from over 92 countries create a diverse, open learning and living environment. The language of instruction for all courses is English, making the university specifically target an international audience. In addition, it offers an English pre-academic program and elective language courses to create the necessary language skills for international careers.

Berlin International offers bachelor's and master's programs in the fields of architecture, design, and business studies. The study programs include: BA Architecture, BA Interior Architecture, BA Graphic Design & Visual Communication, MBA, MA Architecture & Spatial Practices, MA Interior Design, BA Business Administration with specializations in International Management & Marketing, and Data Science & Business. A special preparatory program - the "International Year One" in cooperation with Touro University - facilitates the entry of international high school graduates into the German higher education system.

The university is part of the BAU Global Network with locations in Istanbul, Washington D.C., Toronto, and Batumi. This connection enables diverse international exchange and internship opportunities. In addition, the university actively participates in the Erasmus+ program.

All study programs have been accredited by the state-recognized accreditation agency ACQUIN. The university itself was institutionally accredited by the Science Council in 2019; this accreditation was extended for another five years in 2025.

Berlin International is a member of the Association of Private Universities (VPH), the Federal Deans' Conference of Business Studies, and the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy. This collaboration enhances the curriculum with content on cloud computing. Additionally, the university commits to the HRK/DAAD Code of Conduct for the equal treatment of international students.

The university's mission emphasizes interdisciplinary, application-oriented teaching and research with an ethical orientation.
