Admission Requirements
In order to begin university studies at AMD Akademie Mode und Design, applicants must prove the qualification required for the course (university entrance qualification). This is demonstrated by:
- general university entrance qualification (Abitur), which entitles you to study at all universities and in all federal states,
- or the subject-specific university entrance qualification, which entitles you to study in the corresponding subject area and in the federal states listed on the certificate,
- or the advanced technical college entrance qualification, which entitles you to study at a university of applied sciences or in a staged degree programme at a university in the federal states listed on the certificate.
Alternatively, admission is possible without Abitur or advanced technical college entrance qualification. The following applies for study without Abitur:
- You have passed a master craftsman’s examination.
- Or you hold a qualification according to the ordinance on access to universities for professionally qualified persons in the state of Hesse, i.e. either a qualification from a professional advanced training course of at least 400 hours, a qualification from a technical school or a vocational or administrative academy, or you have passed the final examination in a state-recognised training occupation followed by at least three years of professional experience and have passed a separate university entrance examination.
- For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be proven for admission.

Course Content and Specialisations
This degree programme systematically combines strategic communication with creative design and imparts comprehensive knowledge about brands, communication and current technologies over 7 semesters. A practical phase of 6 weeks is integrated into the course.
The curriculum includes the following modules:
- 1st–3rd semester: Creativity training, team building, marketing, brand management, brand perception, live communication, dialogue, strategy, argumentation, brand development projects, product development, brand communication projects, photography, digital and conceptual image finding, typography, image history and image science, portrait projects, brand mark and redesign, design principles, drawing, forms of representation, communication media, editorial design, colour + form projects, type + image, spatial communication, elective modules
- 4th–5th semester: Corporate design, corporate communication, web design / programming, design law, corporate communication and campaign projects, motion design, audiovisual production, image science, image ethics, film and multimedia projects
- 6th semester: Internship
- 7th semester: Business start-up, application preparation, Bachelor supervision, Bachelor thesis, Bachelor colloquium, presentation/documentation
During the course, you will also deepen your knowledge through exciting elective modules, for example in communication, retail, advertising, event, digital media or storytelling.

- Innovation Management & Design, B.A.: This AMD degree programme combines management and design skills and is accordingly situated at the interface between management and creativity. Students are trained as change managers and networkers over 7 semesters. You can study either in Munich or Wiesbaden.
