The requirements for achieving equivalence to the Abitur or Fachabitur vary depending on the country. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides a database that provides information on admission requirements in Germany. Additional study periods or courses may be necessary to fully meet the admission requirements. Various options for meeting these requirements include the International Year One program, completing a first academic year at a recognized university, or attending a preparatory course. Direct access to all subjects or access to a specific subject depends on the respective qualifications. Additionally, proof of English proficiency at least at CEFR level B2 is also required.
