Admission requirements
Admission to the Business Informatics degree programme is granted to those who meet one of the following requirements:
• General higher education entrance qualification
• Advanced technical college entrance qualification
• Passed master craftsman examination
• Intermediate school leaving certificate (at least secondary school diploma) and qualified completion of a recognised vocational training course lasting at least 3 years, with an average or overall final grade of 2.5 or better (if these grades are not indicated, the arithmetic mean of the individual subject grades applies)
• Completion of vocational further training of at least 400 teaching hours, a technical college, or a professional or administrative academy*
• Final examination in a state-recognised training occupation followed by at least 2 years of professional experience related to the course of study and passing a separate university entrance examination*
*in accordance with the ordinance on the access of professionally qualified persons to universities in the state of Hessen
Further information on specific qualifications is available upon request. Applicants who do not meet the stated requirements can initially attend the course as guest listeners if admission to the higher education entrance qualification examination (HZB) is granted.
For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be proven for admission.

Business Informatics is a subfield of applied computer science. It links content from business administration and computer science, incorporating aspects of law and engineering sciences. The interdisciplinary approach makes business informatics specialists highly sought-after professionals in the job market.
The interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree programme "Business Informatics" (B.Sc.) prepares you optimally for starting your career as a 7-semester (online) distance learning course. The study content is very practice-oriented and comes from the fields of mathematics, computer science, business administration and law. In addition, you will intensify your language skills through the module Technical English. The aim is to acquire broad knowledge about information and communication systems. Among other things, you learn programming techniques for software development as well as details on process management of data flows. Finally, you gain insights into legal issues and learn intensively how to integrate business requirements into your work. You qualify to take on responsible tasks in departments and projects.
During your studies, you can also choose your personal, professionally oriented focus to deepen your skills further.

Course progression
At DIPLOMA Hochschule you have the option to study the Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics in one of two variants: as an online degree or as a face-to-face degree.
The online distance learning programme at DIPLOMA Hochschule is designed according to the "blended learning" principle. That means you work through the study content with the help of study booklets and attend seminars. These usually take place on 12 to 14 Saturdays per semester – in some cases also on weekday evenings. In the online course, these take place as live online seminars. You can also take your exams online or at an exam centre of your choice.
Costs & start of studies
The (online) distance learning course at DIPLOMA Hochschule begins each year in the summer semester (April) and winter semester (October). Starting the course – after individual examination – is also possible at any other time.
The face-to-face degree programme begins once a year in the winter semester (October).
