German-language degree programme in Business Informatics
Degree: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
The role of a business informatics specialist involves developing IT-supported solutions for business management problems and ensuring their smooth implementation in company processes. Working at the interface with various specialist departments requires, in addition to economic and IT expertise, above all communication and persuasion skills. Your tasks include, among others, designing intelligent databases, developing solutions for efficient content management, or optimising workflows via the intranet. As a business informatics specialist, you are in demand in IT and e-commerce departments, in software development, in the sales of information technology systems, as well as in the consulting industry.
COURSE CONTENT AND PROGRESSION:
The modules in the first semesters focus primarily on theoretical basic knowledge as well as application competence built upon it. In the elective modules of semesters 4 and 5, the focus is then on application and problem-solving skills, whereby the study specialisation can be placed either in the information technology or the business management area (detailed information on the electives is available from your regional study advisory service). A large part of the studies is reserved for concrete case studies.
The work-integrated FOM concept offers an optimal combination of your work in a company with a university degree, allowing you to assume key positions in the company later on.
The innovative mix of teaching methods consisting of face-to-face lectures, workshops, and group work qualifies you for management positions with IT-oriented requirements and promotes important key skills such as teamwork and communication. Graduates also master fundamental methodological knowledge, such as algebra, statistics, calculus, and numerical analysis. Upon completion of your university studies, the internationally recognised degree »Bachelor of Science (Business Informatics)« is awarded.
