Admission requirements

Admission to the Business Informatics degree programme is granted to those who meet one of the following requirements:

• General university entrance qualification (Abitur)
• Advanced technical college entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife)
• Passed master craftsman examination
• Intermediate school leaving certificate (at least Realschulabschluss) and a qualified completion of a recognised vocational training course of at least 3 years, with an average or overall final grade of 2.5 or better (if these grades are not specified, the arithmetic mean of the individual subject grades applies)
• Completion of a professional development course of at least 400 lessons, a technical school, or a vocational or administrative academy*
• Final examination in a state-recognised vocational training programme with subsequent relevant professional experience of at least 2 years related to the degree and passing a separate university entrance examination*

*in accordance with the ordinance on access to universities in the state of Hesse for professionally qualified applicants

We are happy to provide further information on specific qualifications upon request. Applicants who do not meet the above requirements can initially attend the programme as guest auditors, provided they have been admitted to the HZB examination.

Details

Business Informatics is a subfield of applied computer science. It links content from business administration and computer science while incorporating aspects of law and engineering sciences. This interdisciplinary approach makes business informatics specialists highly sought-after professionals in the job market.

The interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree programme "Business Informatics" (B.Sc.) prepares you optimally for your career entry as a full-time course lasting six semesters. The content of the programme is very practice-oriented and originates from the fields of mathematics, computer science, business administration, and law. Additionally, you will intensify your language skills through the module Technical English. The aim is to acquire broad knowledge about information and communication systems. Among other things, you will learn programming techniques for software development as well as details about process management of data streams. Finally, you will gain insights into legal issues and learn extensively how to integrate business requirements into your work. You qualify to take on responsible tasks in departments and projects.

During your studies, you can also choose your personal, professionally oriented specialisation in order to further deepen your skills.

Course progression
At DIPLOMA University, you have the option to study the Bachelor's degree programme Business Informatics in one of two variants: as an online degree or as a full-time degree.

The full-time degree is available at our DIPLOMA University campus in Bad Sooden-Allendorf and usually takes six semesters in the standard period of study. In the traditional university of applied sciences programme, you attend lectures, seminars, and exercises on campus from Monday to Friday in person. The entire learning workload comprises 180 ECTS (Credit Points).

Costs, registration & start of studies

The full-time degree programme begins once a year in the winter semester (October).
