Computer Engineering/IT Engineering, Bachelor of Science

Dual studies @ NORDAKADEMIE University of Applied Sciences

👉 The dual degree programme in Technical Computer Science/IT Engineering bridges the gap between industrial engineering and computer science. A key component of the course is the engagement with cyber-physical systems as well as the intelligent networking of various hardware and software components. Due to the dual study system, the content of the study programme is closely linked with that of the training company.

Details

Intelligent systems require powerful microcontroller units with network connectivity, a range of sensors and actuators, and extensive software that controls all hardware components and communicates locally or globally with other control systems. These intelligent systems often operate autonomously and invisibly in the background, which places particularly high demands on robustness and availability. Increasingly, the systems no longer operate completely autonomously but use the network interface to outsource parts of the functionality to server infrastructure (so-called cyber-physical systems/CPS). The design and operation of such systems require interdisciplinary knowledge from the fields of engineering sciences (especially electrical engineering, information technology, and mechanical engineering) and computer science.

The dual study programme Technical Computer Science/IT Engineering (B.Sc.) bridges the gap between industrial engineering and computer science and focuses on the development of networked cyber-physical systems. In addition, students acquire basic business administration knowledge for their future work in a corporate context.
