Details
The pharmaceutical and medical technology market is in motion and undergoing transformation. Many new technologies are being introduced. This affects the entire value chain of pharmaceutical and medical technology products. Keywords such as Industry 4.0, connected production, and globalised value chains illustrate this change in traditional drug development and manufacturing. This is not least a result of digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is having an increasing influence. Machines communicate with machines – but specialists are needed to oversee the process or act as intermediaries at the interface with customers. Among others, logistics, trade, and the distribution of raw and intermediate products through to the medicines rely on employees with specialised knowledge.
The Bachelor's degree programme "Pharma Management and Pharma Production" (B.Sc.) is aimed particularly at people who are already professionally active in the pharmaceutical sector and wish to improve their qualification with a university degree. However, you can also study the programme as an initial qualification. The course has an interdisciplinary orientation with both business management and pharmaceutical-technological objectives. This means that after graduation you are qualified for tasks across the entire pharmaceutical value chain of medical devices and pharmacy-related goods.
During your studies, you will gain a comprehensive overview of management, production, and technologies in the pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors. You will learn theories and fundamentals to successfully meet challenges in middle and senior key positions. Due to the dual qualification in business/management and pharmaceutical basics, technologies and their applications, you are especially equipped for interface tasks.
During your studies, you can also choose your personal, career-oriented focus to further deepen your skills.
The specialisations in the Bachelor's degree programme Pharma Management and Pharma Production are:
• Modern pharmacies: pharmacy management and personalised pharmacy
• Industrial pharmacy: pharmaceutical production, equipment, and control
