The Master’s programme in Healthcare Management (M.A.) at Hochschule Fresenius is aimed at professionals who take on responsible management roles in the healthcare sector or wish to qualify for leadership positions in hospitals, care facilities, pharmaceutical companies, medical care centres, or healthcare consulting. It is particularly targeted at graduates with a first degree in healthcare, social sciences, or business as well as specialists with relevant professional experience who want to expand their management and leadership skills in healthcare.

What formal entry requirements apply?

To be admitted to the Master’s programme in Healthcare Management (M.A.) you need a first professional university degree (for example Bachelor, Diploma, or Magister) with at least 180 Credit Points. Alternatively, there are entry opportunities with subject-specific vocational training and relevant professional experience as well as by participating in an aptitude test. Hochschule Fresenius waives a Numerus Clausus (NC), so admission is also possible without a fixed grade average. In summary, the following options apply:

  • Completed first degree (at least 180 ECTS) in healthcare, social sciences, business, or related fields.
  • Vocational training in a thematically relevant field, at least 2 years of professional experience, and passed aptitude test (for example in the form of a term paper and a letter of motivation).
  • Experts with advanced training or a master craftsman’s certificate and several years of professional experience in the healthcare sector may also be admitted.
  • Proof of university entrance qualification for applicants without a completed degree, supplemented by evidence of professional suitability and an admission interview.

You should have an interest in management tasks in healthcare and the willingness to carry out independent academic work. For distance learning, self-organisation, discipline, and a high level of self-motivation are required. Initial practical experience in the healthcare sector or in business management areas is an advantage, but not mandatory in all cases.
