Who is the Master’s Digital Management & Leadership programme suitable for?

The Master’s degree programme Digital Management & Leadership is aimed at graduates of business administration and media-related bachelor’s programmes who want to prepare for leadership roles in the digitalised economy. The programme is particularly suitable if you already have some knowledge of business, media or digital technologies and want to specifically expand your skills in digital transformation, innovation management and modern leadership approaches. It is particularly targeted at career starters who wish to take on specialist or managerial responsibilities in companies across all sectors in the medium term – whether in established corporations, start-ups or in the field of business development.

What formal requirements do you need to meet?

For admission you need:

  • A first professional qualifying higher education degree (Bachelor) with at least 180 ECTS credits
  • At least 15 ECTS credits in the subject area of media and communication sciences (with a focus on digital media, online marketing and/or social media)
  • At least 25 ECTS credits in the subject area of business administration
  • At least 5 ECTS credits in quantitative methods

If you are missing credit points in the specified subject areas, you can still be admitted to the programme by successfully passing an entrance test.

Personal requirements: You should have a strong interest in digitalisation and modern forms of corporate management. Teamwork skills, communication strength and problem-solving competence are as important in everyday study life as openness to innovative technologies and agile working methods. Experience in projects or practical prior knowledge in the area of digital media is an advantage but not a mandatory requirement. Independent working and the willingness to critically reflect on new business models will support your success in the programme.

The programme is designed as a four-semester on-campus master’s degree in the so-called “3-day master” model. You spend three fixed days per week on campus during the semester. This model enables an optimal link between study and practical experience – for example through part-time jobs or working student activities. You study in small groups and benefit from practice-oriented courses, case studies, workshops and guest lectures. Regular elective modules support individual profile development.

During the course of study, you work on projects, set your own focus areas and write a master’s thesis including a colloquium in the final semester.
