Additionally, you must provide evidence of English skills at level B1. This can be done either through a recognised language certificate or through corresponding English lessons completed during school graduation. There is no Numerus Clausus (NC); admission is possible directly if the requirements are met. Previously completed studies or further training achievements in the fields of energy, real estate or sustainability can be credited after individual examination, for example as a certified real estate specialist (IHK) or state-certified business economist in housing management.
For the degree, you should have analytical thinking abilities and an interest in interdisciplinary contexts. Important are initiative, team skills and communication strengths, as you will frequently work with technical, economic and ecological issues and develop solutions together in a team. An affinity for technical, economic and environmental topics, willingness to regularly attend weekend sessions or participate online as well as good time management will facilitate your study success.

How is the course structured in the part-time model?
The part-time programme lasts 7 semesters (standard period of study) and starts in the summer or winter semester. The organisation is designed so that you can continue your professional activity alongside your studies. Your classes will take place on weekends and are offered in two study formats:
- On-campus study in Bochum: Classes in modern seminar rooms with direct interaction with lecturers and fellow students.
- LiveStream model: Participation in classes digitally via real-time transmission – flexibly from home or on the go.
The part-time study model offers a close integration of theory and practice: You work in interdisciplinary teams, participate in practice-oriented projects and tackle real problems from the real estate and energy sectors. The content of all modules is identical, regardless of which time model or start date you choose.

The tuition fees for the part-time bachelor’s programme amount to €3,480 per semester (equivalent to €580 per month) – both for the weekend study programme on campus in Bochum and the pure LiveStream format. Additionally, there is a one-off enrolment fee of €550. There are no examination fees.
