Who is the Master’s Degree in Real Estate Management at HAM Suitable For?

The Master’s programme in Real Estate Management at the University of Applied Management is specifically tailored to graduates with a bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, real estate, or law, as well as university graduates with comparable subject-related qualifications. It is aimed at junior professionals and employees from the real estate, construction, or finance sectors who wish to further qualify for leadership roles in real estate management, project development, or facility management, and who are seeking a direct career entry or progression through a strong practical component.

Which Formal Admission Requirements Must You Fulfil?

You need a subject-related or closely related first university degree (bachelor’s, diploma, magister) with at least 180 ECTS credits – usually in areas such as real estate management, business administration, civil engineering, architecture, business law, or related fields. Applicants with fewer than 210 ECTS or with a closely related degree can also be admitted and subsequently qualified through a preparatory course programme or recognition of a practical semester. You should have a interest in economic, legal and technical issues in the real estate sector and ideally have already engaged with real estate processes during an internship, working student job, or through professional experience. Analytical thinking, structured working, and the willingness to take responsibility during interactive project phases are as important as communication skills and openness to digital tools, especially in connection with artificial intelligence and future skills in the real estate sector.

How is the course structure and organisation model designed?

The Master’s programme is designed for part-time study and is laid out over three semesters with 90 ECTS. You can choose between two flexible study models:

  • Dual Plus: Here you work alongside your studies in a company (up to 32 hours/week), whereby 42% of your study time is transferred to the company. Study achievements are completed in close connection with practical projects within the company.

Both models rely on multimedia learning, regular practical exchanges as well as the integration of real case studies and project work. Examinations are predominantly carried out through project and transfer work instead of classic written exams.
