Details

Mechatronics is involved in most technical products – across all industries. Mechatronics combines content from the traditional engineering disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science, uniting them into a single field. Mechatronics engineers are therefore generalists who master their three disciplines based on a broad education. They identify potential sources of errors and recognise solutions from the perspective of an electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and computer scientist.

Mechatronics engineers master mechanical engineering from large-scale plants to precision mechanics. Their electrical engineering knowledge ranges from a few milliamperes to high voltage. Some programme microcontrollers, others programme process control systems for industrial plants. They work in design and development departments, but also in manufacturing or worldwide as a mobile service department in the area of Maintenance & Support.
