The Bachelor's distance learning programme in Technical Business Administration (B.Sc.) is aimed at individuals who want to combine business administration skills with technical expertise. It is primarily targeted at professionals from industry, technology or business who take on interface roles between management and technology or who want to specifically enter strategic corporate management, process management or digital transformation. The programme is suitable both for school graduates with university entrance qualifications and for professionally qualified individuals who want to advance their careers at an academic level and qualify for positions in product development, process optimisation or technical service areas.
What formal admission requirements apply?
To be admitted to the distance learning programme in Technical Business Administration (B.Sc.) at Hochschule Fresenius, you must provide proof of one of the following qualifications:
- General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur)
- Advanced technical college entrance qualification or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification
- Completed vocational training of at least 2 years plus at least 2 years of professional experience in a related field as well as passing a subject-specific university entrance examination
- Master craftsman’s certificate, technician certificate or comparable advanced vocational training with at least 400 hours of instruction (e.g. business administrator, technician); usually additionally with an admission test
- Intermediate school certificate and at least 3 years of vocational training with a final grade of 2.5 or better (if the grade is lower: additional admission test); combined with the requirement to achieve a certain number of ECTS credits in the first two semesters
On a personal level, you should have an interest in technical and economic issues, analytical thinking skills and self-motivation for independent study in distance learning. Communication skills, organisational talent and the willingness to continuously engage with new digital technologies, process management and project-based work are advantageous.
Initial experience or interest in topics such as automation or Industry 4.0 makes entry easier but is not a mandatory requirement.

Thanks to the interdisciplinary orientation, you will develop analytical, organisational and communicative skills that qualify you for a wide range of tasks at the interface of management and technology.
Course Structure: How Is the Programme Organised?
The distance learning programme in Technical Business Administration is designed entirely online and can be flexibly combined with work and private life. The programme comprises 180 ECTS credits and can be completed in 36, 48 or 72 months depending on the chosen model. You can start your studies at any time – always on the first day of the month.

Physical presence at a specific campus is not required. The infrastructure of Hochschule Fresenius with locations in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt a.
