Admission Requirements

With your B.A. in Business Administration, you can work for example in controlling, project management or personnel development. Alternatively, you can pursue a Master’s or MBA after your studies.

In order to begin a degree programme at Hochschule Fresenius, applicants must prove that they have the qualification required for the programme (university entrance qualification). This can be demonstrated by:

  • the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), which entitles you to study at all universities and in all federal states,
  • or the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, which entitles you to study the relevant subject and in the federal states listed on the certificate,
  • or the advanced technical college entrance qualification, which entitles you to study at a University of Applied Sciences or to enrol in a consecutive degree programme at a university in the federal states listed on the certificate.

Alternatively, you can also be admitted without an Abitur or advanced technical college entrance qualification, provided that the following applies for study without Abitur:

  • you have passed a master craftsman’s examination.
  • Or you have a qualification according to the Ordinance on access for professionally qualified persons to universities in the state of Hesse, meaning either a qualification from a professional advanced training of at least 400 hours, the completion of a technical school or a professional or administrative academy, or a passed final examination in a state-recognised training occupation followed by at least three years of professional experience and completion of a separate university entrance examination.
  • For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be proven for admission purposes.

Course Content and Specialisations

The Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration is broadly structured. In the first semesters, alongside mathematics and statistics, the focus is mainly on fundamentals in economic disciplines.

The curriculum includes the following modules:

  • 1st semester: Fundamentals of Business Administration, Marketing and Market Research, Accounting, Business Communication, Project Management and Presentation Techniques, Business Mathematics
  • 2nd semester: Human Resource Management and Leadership, Financial Analysis, Civil Law, Application-oriented Microeconomics, Academic Work, Statistical Methods
  • 3rd semester: Entrepreneurial Value Creation, National and International Corporate Accounting, Digital Marketing and Online Business, Special Business Law, Application-oriented Macroeconomics, Empirical Research Methods
  • 4th semester: International and Intercultural Management, Data Science and Data Analytics, Digital Transformation, Specialisation I
  • 5th semester: Business Simulation Game, Practical Project, Business Ethics and Sustainability, Specialisation II

During the course of your studies, you will also deepen your knowledge in exciting specialisations, such as Marketing Management, Finance and Controlling, International Management, Tax Consultancy and Auditing, Sales Management, Value Chain Management.

By the way: Practical experience is ensured through a practical project as well as an optional practical semester, in which you implement real-world tasks. If you choose the practical semester, the standard period of study extends to 7 semesters and you will earn a total of 210 ECTS credits.

Heidelberg, the beautiful city on the Neckar, is probably a place you will never want to leave after completing your studies at Hochschule Fresenius.
