Admission requirements
The prerequisites for starting a degree in Architecture are creativity, an interest in building arts and cultural influences – but also a connection to handicraft and construction-related topics as well as scientific questions. Mathematics lectures, which are mandatory for most engineering courses, are not part of the Architecture degree. Instead, the technical content is taught through concrete construction-related questions, for example by exercises in building physics and structural calculations.

Details
The practice-oriented dual architecture degree produces technically skilled architects. They work in architecture and planning firms as well as in the construction and real estate industries, but also in building authorities, design agencies, and cultural institutions. Our built environment offers a whole range of exciting topics for which specialists will continue to be needed in the future: the conversion of existing buildings, the modernization and refurbishment of old buildings with a focus on preserving value and urban planning aspects, the enhancement of entire city districts, and of course new construction projects ranging from simple single-family homes to large hospitals. These topics constitute a large part of the assignments in the construction sector and are therefore also at the centre of the dual bachelor's degree in Architecture at hochschule 21.
