The University of Applied Sciences Wedel gGmbH (German: Fachhochschule Wedel gGmbH) is one of the few private, non-profit universities of applied sciences in Germany. Located in Schleswig-Holstein on the western outskirts of Hamburg, it offers a diverse range of study programmes in the fields of computer science, engineering, and business. The university is state-recognized and funded through tuition fees, state subsidies, and third-party funding.

University of Applied Sciences Wedel gGmbH has a long tradition: it was founded in 1948 as a School of Physics and Technology and moved to Wedel in 1963. The university was established as a University of Applied Sciences in 1969, with the introduction of the first computer science courses as early as 1968. Over the years, the university has continuously evolved and now offers eleven undergraduate and six postgraduate programmes, including innovative courses such as E-Commerce, IT Engineering, and Smart Technology.
