Admission requirements
To be admitted to our Bachelor's degree programme in Psychology, you must meet the following entrance and admission requirements:
- Qualification for study according to § 10 BerlHG (General university entrance qualification) or
- Programme-specific qualification for study according to § 11 BerlHG
Studying at the MSB Medical School Berlin is free of NC restrictions. For us, performance, talent, motivation, and discipline count more than the grade point average on the final certificate. After your application, we will review your personal motivation in an individual admission interview.

The Bachelor's degree programme in Psychology is offered at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at MSB with a university degree. It takes into account the professional legal requirements according to § 9 of the Psychotherapist Act with the minimum requirements for university teaching and practical professional placements and thus qualifies for the Master's degree programme in Psychotherapy.
The Bachelor's degree programme in Psychology at MSB provides a cross-section through the disciplines of Health Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, Educational Psychology, and Work and Organisational Psychology, with a strong scientific-methodological focus.
What career prospects await you after the Bachelor's degree in Psychology at MSB Medical School Berlin?
The Bachelor's degree programme in Psychology at MSB offers a cross-section through the disciplines of Health Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, Educational Psychology, and Work and Organisational Psychology. This means that already after completing the Bachelor's, you have excellent conditions to work as a specialist in areas of prevention, healthcare for psychologically impaired or mentally ill people, or in work and organisational psychological fields.
Typically, the Bachelor's degree in Psychology is followed by the corresponding Master's degree to further deepen competences in specific areas. The Bachelor's degree in Psychology qualifies you for a subsequent Master's degree programme.
The Bachelor's degree alone does not yet qualify for work as an independent psychologist without a Master's degree.
The new path to becoming a psychotherapist
With the entry into force of the new Psychotherapist Act on 01.09.2020, psychotherapists can in future be trained in a direct degree programme with subsequent further training. MSB is taking this new path with you and offers all steps up to professional entry under one roof. Students who began their Bachelor's degree before this date can still complete the training to become a Psychological Psychotherapist after their Master's degree according to the old model within the agreed transitional period of 12 years. The IPB Institute for Integrative Psychotherapy Training Berlin, as a state-recognised training institute at MSB, enables you to train as a licensed Psychological Psychotherapist as well as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist.
