What requirements must you meet for admission?
There are two pathways to enrol in the Bachelor's degree programme in Applied Psychology:
- Higher education entrance qualification: You possess a school-leaving certificate qualifying for university admission (Abitur), advanced technical college entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife), subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, an equivalent foreign qualification, a master craftsman’s certificate, or a recognised advanced training qualification. A completed university degree or a relevant three-year vocational training also entitle you to direct admission.
- Vocational qualification with placement test: With a completed vocational training of at least two years (or comparable qualifications), you can also study fully after passing a placement test – even without a school-leaving certificate qualifying for university admission.
Previous achievements from earlier degree programmes or certified continuing education can be credited after individual assessment and may shorten the duration of study.
You should have an interest in human behaviour and experience and be willing to learn independently as well as acquire methodological knowledge in statistics and empirical research. Essential are communication skills, team orientation, and openness to interdisciplinary topics. For distance learning, time management, self-organisation, and digital learning competence are of particular importance. A basic interest in analytical thinking as well as empathy for social and psychological issues complete your profile for a successful psychology degree.

How is the study programme organised in the APOLLON distance learning course?
The programme is organised as a part-time distance learning course with flexible start dates. You decide whether you take the standard duration of 36 or 48 months (a total of 180 ECTS) – you can extend the study period free of charge by up to 50% if needed. All study materials and resources are provided digitally or on request in printed form. Your learning progress is documented through case studies, examinations, seminars, project work and the bachelor thesis.

- Examinations: Online exams (open-book), exams at test centres or online, case studies, presentations, term papers
- Seminars: Four compulsory seminars – optionally online or face-to-face (at the Bremen campus); additional introductory seminar at the beginning

Where and how does the study of Applied Psychology take place?
The course is conducted almost 100% online and location-independent. The APOLLON Online Campus is your central learning platform. All exams and tests can be taken online; alternatively, numerous test centres in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and additionally Goethe Institutes abroad are available.
