Admission requirements

Access to the course of study is granted to those who

• can provide evidence of the general higher education entrance qualification, the advanced technical college entrance qualification, or an equivalent recognised higher education entrance qualification in accordance with § 49 HG.

For the 7-semester dual study variant, an employment contract with a cooperating practical institution in the field of childhood pedagogy is required.

Details

The full-time degree programme in Early Childhood Education qualifies you to initiate and implement educational processes in daycare centres and all-day primary schools. In addition, you will develop your professional competence for counselling on the diverse topics of educational work with children and their families. Alongside the Bachelor of Arts, you will receive state recognition as an early childhood educator upon completion of the programme.

Within the 6-semester course of study, both professionally sound theoretical knowledge and practice-oriented skills for pedagogical interaction with young people are central. You will undergo intensive and supervised practical phases in which you can test, reflect on, and develop a broad spectrum of professional practical actions.

Full-time: 6 semesters
Part-time: 7 semesters
