Details
The course "Childhood and Youth Pedagogy" at the European Distance University of Hamburg GmbH introduces students to scientific work as well as the basics of childhood and youth pedagogy. Core topics include pedagogical and psychological fundamentals, communication, conflict management, legal aspects, institutions in childhood and youth, family, research methods, diversity, integration, inclusion, counseling, and professional development. Students are trained in courses on topics such as professional competence, evaluation, quality management, political and social influences, as well as leadership and networking tasks. They also choose from education-related and method-related specializations.
This distance learning program comprises 180 ECTS points and culminates in the Bachelor of Arts degree. The duration of studies is 36 months. Mandatory on-site phases in Hamburg (total of 16 hours over 2 days) as well as online seminars (total of 66 hours per year) are planned to promote the interactive learning environment.
