Who is the Master’s programme Digital Business Management and Engineering suitable for?

This degree programme is aimed at professionals working at the intersection of digitalisation, management and engineering, or those who wish to develop in this direction. The target group includes specialists with backgrounds in economics, engineering or information technology who want to specifically prepare themselves for leadership roles in digital transformation. Those who want to implement digital business models or manage digital transformation processes in companies are particularly addressed – for example in the areas of production, IT, sales, consulting or business development. The distance learning course is suitable for you if you want to study independently of time and place and combine practical work experience with academic further training.

What admission requirements do you need to meet?

  • Completed university degree (Bachelor’s, Diploma or Magister) with at least 180 ECTS credits.
  • The degree should have been obtained in an economic, technical or related subject area.
  • Crossover applicants from other disciplines may be admitted under certain circumstances if relevant professional experience in digital, technical or economic fields can be demonstrated.
  • Alternatively, you can be admitted with a completed vocational training in a relevant field, at least two years of professional experience and a passed aptitude test. In addition, training certificates, proof of professional experience and a motivation letter are required.
  • If subject-specific credit points are missing, the university may require individual bridging courses or supplementary qualifications.
  • Proof of English language skills (e.g. B2 level) may be required, as some content and literature are in English.

For admission without a classical university degree, you need completed vocational training of at least two years in a relevant profession, at least three years of relevant professional experience as well as successful participation in an aptitude test and a counselling interview at the university.

  • You should have a strong interest in digital transformation processes, business models and technologies.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential, as you are expected to assess and shape complex technical and economic issues.
