Admission requirements
The Master's programme in Business Informatics/IT Management is aimed at prospective students who have a first qualifying university degree (Diploma, Bachelor with at least 180 credit points, or equivalent) in a (business) informatics programme or a related subject.
A total of 300 credit points are required for the Master's degree, which also includes the right to pursue a doctorate. Since the Master's programme comprises only 90 credit points, applicants who bring an equivalent of less than 210 credit points from their first degree must make up the missing credit points before graduating with the Master's degree. Admission in this case is only granted on the condition that the missing credit points are proven before completing the Master's programme.
The formal requirements are met by candidates who hold a state-recognised university degree from a domestic or foreign university and possess knowledge and skills to formulate problem solutions algorithmically, knowledge of the development and integration of operational information systems, knowledge of the development, interlinking, and documentation of IT-supported business processes, advanced knowledge of selected business processes, the ability to understand and prepare decisions from a business perspective, as well as a basic understanding of the procedures and environment of IT projects.
In the case of degrees in Business Informatics, as well as degrees with "Informatics" in the title and corresponding economic specialisation, or degrees with an economic focus and corresponding specialisation in Informatics, the necessary competences are generally demonstrated. For other degrees, the competences are individually assessed as part of the application process and, if necessary, a joint plan to compensate for any missing competences will be developed.
