Admission requirements

With your B.Sc. in Nutrition & Fitness in Prevention you will work, for example, in health coaching and counselling, in workplace health promotion or in health tourism.

In order to be able to take up a university course at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, applicants must provide evidence of the qualification required for the course (university entrance qualification). This is proven by:

  • The general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), which entitles the holder to study at all higher education institutions and in all federal states
  • or the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, this entitles the holder to study in the corresponding subject and in the federal states shown on the certificate,
  • or the Fachhochschulreife, this entitles the holder to study at a university of applied sciences or in a graded course of study at a university in the federal states shown on the certificate.

Alternatively, you can also be admitted without an Abitur or Fachhochschulreife. The following is required for studying without an Abitur:

  • You have passed a master's examination.
  • For foreign qualifications, the equivalence must be proven for admission.

The curriculum includes the following modules:

  • 1st semester: Basic building blocks of nutrition, aspects of food science, basics of anatomy, basics of physiology, basics of scientific work
  • 2nd semester: Aspects of food science, basics of nutrition physiology, nutrition and prevention, pathophysiological changes, structures and actors of the German health system
  • 3rd semester: Nutrition in disease, Anatomical and physiological relationships, Fundamentals of exercise science, Scientific methodology: qualitative and quantitative research
  • 4th semester: Theory of disease, functional anatomy and biomechanics, basics of fitness training, basics of communication and counselling, business management
  • 5th semester: In-depth training theory, in-depth fitness training, planning of preventive interventions: Training & Health, Marketing, Research Colloquium
  • 6th semester: Elements of systemic interviewing, business start-up and self-employment, health psychology, final examination

During the course of study, you will also delve into exciting specialisations, such as human biology basics, nutrition, fitness, business management basics, counselling and prevention or professional field orientation in the health system.
