Admission requirements
You need the general higher education entrance qualification, the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, or the university of applied sciences entrance qualification.
Alternatively, a profession-related qualification without an aptitude test (e.g. master craftsman's examination or comparable further education) or with an aptitude test (at least two-year vocational training and three-year professional experience in a relevant field) is sufficient. In these cases, a consultation or an aptitude test is required.
You submit a letter of motivation.
You provide evidence of sufficient knowledge of German (for example, through DSH or TestDaF examination).
If available, please include internship certificates.
You attach a portfolio (digital portfolio) with at least 15 pages of artistic or architectural works (e.g. sketches, drawings, model images, photographs).
A curriculum vitae with a current passport photo and a copy of an ID (additional National Identity Card for foreign students) must also be submitted.
Details
The Bachelor's degree programme in Architecture at the SRH University Heidelberg offers a practice-oriented and artistically influenced course of study that specifically prepares students for the challenges of modern architecture. The programme consists of seven semesters and comprises 210 ECTS credits. The main target group is students who wish to acquire comprehensive architectural expertise while emphasizing creative design possibilities as well as technical and legal competence. Students are empowered to merge both aesthetic and functional aspects of buildings and to implement projects in a practical way.
Throughout the course, the programme provides fundamental knowledge in areas such as design, building analysis, construction techniques, urban planning, as well as building management, and real estate law. A high level of practical relevance is ensured through numerous practical projects, case studies, and excursions. In the fourth semester, students complete a supervised internship at an architectural firm, which optimally prepares them for entry into professional practice or further academic qualification.

Students also acquire additional skills in scientific work as well as in social and personal abilities. Upon completion of the programme, graduates have a variety of career paths available to them, such as in architecture and engineering firms, construction management, project development, or related areas such as real estate management and urban planning. The degree also qualifies for further postgraduate studies.
The study concept is shaped by the CORE principle with a high proportion of independent and application-oriented learning, enabling a direct transfer to practice.
