Admission: What Formal Requirements Apply?

For the study programme, you need one of the following entrance qualifications:

  • General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur)
  • Subject-specific higher education entrance qualification or advanced technical college entrance qualification
  • Professionally qualified: e.g. a completed master craftsman’s examination or a comparable professional qualification according to the Vocational Training Act
  • Subject-related completed commercial vocational training enables recognition – this can shorten the duration of the studies to six semesters

There is no Numerus Clausus (NC). The programme is taught in German; however, you should have basic knowledge of English, as individual modules have an international focus.

You should have organisational talent and enjoy working with people. Openness to new cultures, flexibility and interest in sustainable trends in tourism and the event sector are also helpful. Initial practical experience in the tourism, hotel or event industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
