The Bachelor's degree programme in Tourism, Hotel and Event Management is aimed at all those who aspire to a career in international service industries. It is particularly addressed to school-leavers with the Abitur as well as persons with a university of applied sciences entrance qualification who want to apply business management knowledge specifically to tourism, hospitality or event management. The course also offers a practical entry point for career starters who are interested in intercultural cooperation, event organisation and hotel management. The programme is especially suitable for you if you are looking for a combination of management, tourism, events and internationality and are willing to complete a semester abroad or a practical semester.

What are the requirements for your application?

To be admitted to the Bachelor's degree programme, you need one of the following qualifications:

  • General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur)
  • Subject-specific higher education entrance qualification or university of applied sciences entrance qualification
  • Professional qualification according to the provisions of the State Higher Education Act, for example a passed master craftsman examination or a recognized equivalent advanced training qualification
  • Qualification through a completed vocational training of at least two years, plus at least three years of professional experience, and passing an individual aptitude test

No numerus clausus (NC) is required. International applicants need a recognised foreign school-leaving certificate as well as sufficient German language skills (or English skills for English-taught modules).

For a successful degree, you should bring organisational talent, teamwork skills and an interest in business management contexts. Communication skills, flexibility and enjoyment of intercultural cooperation are important, as study contents and practical phases are often internationally oriented. Prior experience in the service sector, first insights into hotel, tourism or event organisation are helpful but not mandatory. Independent working, high motivation and willingness to gain experience abroad or in practical placements support your study success.
