It is particularly targeted at individuals with commercial or technical vocational training, state-certified business economists, as well as specialists who aspire to managerial roles in internationally operating companies or organisations. Career changers without a traditional university entrance qualification but with professional experience also benefit from the flexible access options.
What formal admission requirements apply?
For the distance learning programme International Business Administration at Euro-FH, you have three access routes:
- With a general higher education entrance qualification or advanced technical college entrance qualification: Additionally, at least one year of practical professional experience or a 12-week internship related to the degree programme must be demonstrated.
- With a subject-specific advanced training examination: Completion as a master craftsman, business administrator (Fachwirt), or comparable advanced training qualification as well as participation in a consultation at Euro-FH.
- With completed vocational training: At least three years of relevant subsequent professional experience as well as successfully passing an entrance examination to assess suitability for the chosen subject area.
Credit for previous achievements (e.g. from advanced training, IHK qualifications or prior studies) can be individually recognised and reduce both the duration of studies and costs.
You should have a strong interest in international economic issues, openness to different cultures, and enthusiasm for foreign languages, especially business English. Independent, structured learning, good time management, and the willingness to regularly engage with digital learning formats are important personal requirements. Communication skills, intercultural competence, and the ability to collaborate in international teams support your study success and future professional practice.
What course content can you expect in the Bachelor International Business Administration?
In the International Business Administration (B.A.) programme at Euro-FH, you will acquire comprehensive knowledge of business management contexts in an international setting. The curriculum provides you with fundamental and advanced knowledge in business administration, management and economics, complemented by up-to-date expertise in digitalisation, law, environment and sustainability as well as international economic relations.
- Fundamentals of Business Administration: Introduction to academic work, business administration, economics, quantitative methods
- Management Skills: Project management, intercultural management, communication and conflict management, visualising and presenting
- Legal, Environmental and Sustainability Aspects: International law, environmental economics, structural policy
- International Economic Relations and Politics: In-depth study of globalisation, deglobalisation and international economic relations
- Digitalisation and Customer Experience: Digitalisation in management, service management, customer experience management
- Business Languages: Intensive training in Business English as well as an optional choice of French or Spanish (total of 22 ECTS)
- Elective Area (Specialisations): Choose a focus, e.g. International Economic Relations and Politics, Global Sourcing and International Recruiting, International Trade Management, International Service and Customer Experience Management or Sustainability, Environment and Structure Policy
- Practical Orientation: Three 2-day on-site seminars in Hamburg, online seminars and a two-week international seminar at a partner university abroad

How is the course of study organised in the distance learning programme?
The programme is designed as flexible distance learning, which can be optimally combined with work and other commitments. You can start at any time and organise your studies at your own pace. The standard period of study is 36 or 48 months, with a free extension of 18 or 24 months respectively.
- Self-study with multimedia materials: Study booklets, digital units, audios, webinars and learning apps are available to you at all times
- Examinations: Take them flexibly online monthly or at one of the 10 nationwide examination centres
- Learning support: Personal supervisors and tutors with quick response times as well as AI-supported assistance through the learning companion KILEA
- Seminars: Three compulsory 2-day attendance seminars (in Hamburg), supplementary online seminars, and a two-week overseas seminar at a partner university in Europe, the USA or China

- Attendance seminars: Three compulsory seminars are offered on site in Hamburg
- Overseas seminar: Two-week seminar at one of Euro-FH’s international partner universities, e.g. in Denmark, Great Britain, Poland, the USA or China
- Examination locations: Exams can be taken flexibly online or at 10 German examination centres
- Learning platform: Organisation and communication are carried out entirely via the Euro-FH digital campus
You are therefore not tied to a fixed location and can optimally combine study, work and private life.
