Admission requirements

Admission to the Business Administration degree programme is granted to those who meet one of the following requirements:

• General university entrance qualification
• Advanced technical college entrance qualification
• Passed master craftsman examination
• Intermediate school leaving certificate (at least Realschulabschluss) and qualified completion of a recognised vocational training of at least 3 years, with an average/overall or final grade of 2.5 or better (if these grades are not stated, the arithmetic mean of the individual subject grades applies),
• Completion of a professional advancement training of at least 400 teaching hours, a technical college or a professional or administrative academy*
• Final examination in a state-recognised vocational training occupation with subsequent professional activity of at least 2 years related to the degree programme and passing a separate university entrance examination*

*According to the ordinance on the access of professionally qualified persons to universities in the state of Hesse.

Further information on specific qualifications is gladly provided upon request. Applicants who do not meet the specified requirements can initially participate in the programme as guest auditors if admission to the HZB examination is available.

For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be proven for admission.

The Bachelor's degree programme "Business Administration" offers you the ideal starting position to work as a specialist in the private sector, public institutions, or in the association sector. Because without skills in the field of business administration, companies, small businesses, as well as clubs and institutions, cannot compete in the market. Growing globalization, but also increasing competition and cost pressure require a strategic response from companies. They need well-trained specialists for conclusions based on economic key figures, in the area of purchasing and sales, and for the optimisation of operational processes.

With the Bachelor's degree "Business Administration" (B.A.) as a 7-semester (online) distance learning course, you are excellently prepared for a wide range of professions. With your analytical understanding of numbers and the ability to observe, evaluate and improve operational processes, you are able to work in any industry. Potential employers range from companies in the financial sector such as banks and insurance companies, industrial enterprises and authorities, to management consultancy, the hotel industry or the healthcare sector. You are not limited to your home country but have all the prerequisites for an international career.

Course progression
At the DIPLOMA University of Applied Sciences you have the option to study the Bachelor's degree Business Administration as an online course, as distance learning on site, or as an on-campus degree programme.

The (online) distance learning course at DIPLOMA University is designed according to the "blended learning" principle. That means you work through the study content using study booklets and attend seminars. These usually take place on 12 to 14 Saturdays per semester – in individual cases also on weekday evenings. In the online course, these take place as live online seminars. You can also take your exams online or at an examination centre of your choice. In the distance learning at the location course, you complete your real attendance seminars and exams at your chosen study centre – in Regenstauf.

Costs & Start of studies
The (online) distance learning course at DIPLOMA University starts every year in the summer semester (April) and winter semester (October). The start of studies is also possible at any other time – after individual examination.
