Understanding and shaping media
The media industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the past ten years and today an internationally connected market of diverse media formats.
Media managers are engaged in all topics of this multifaceted media market. From an economic and conceptual perspective, they accompany developments in the fields of TV management, digital media management, design management, brand communication and advertising, PR and communications management, sports and event management, as well as music management. The variety of employers corresponds to the diversity of these areas of activity, whose specific requirements we prepare our students for through independent degree programmes.
The task of the media manager is to develop content-wise meaningful and economically viable concepts that inspire and positively influence the market. From the concept idea to the creative and technical implementation, media managers oversee all steps of this usually complex process – including the evaluation of the results.
Media managers act as mediators between entrepreneurial thinking and artistic creativity. But also between entrepreneurial thinking and technical innovations as well as legal requirements. And of course, media managers must have a good sense of the market and the needs of the target audience. Openness and curiosity, economic understanding and commitment, as well as enthusiasm for the media, are the best prerequisites for successful media managers.
The Media Management degree course at Macromedia University covers economic, legal, technical as well as design, creative and conceptual study content. You learn to plan, organise and drive forward future-oriented media concepts.
The course specifically prepares you to act as a competent interface between creativity and management and thus opens the door to a wide range of exciting and challenging professions. Our graduates primarily find their fields of work in leadership and supporting roles in the media industry, but also in media-relevant areas of industrial and service companies.
