Admission requirements

The following qualifications are required for admission to the Business Law degree programme:

• General higher education entrance qualification
• Advanced technical college entrance qualification
• Passed master craftsman examination
• Intermediate school leaving certificate (at least secondary school leaving certificate) and qualified completion of a recognised vocational training of at least 3 years, with an average/final grade of 2.5 or better (if these grades are not indicated, the arithmetic mean of the individual subject grades applies),
• Completion of a professional advancement training of at least 400 lessons, a technical school, or a vocational or administrative academy*
• Final examination in a state-recognised training occupation with subsequent professional activity of at least 2 years related to the degree programme and passing a separate university entrance examination*

*according to the ordinance on access to universities for professionally qualified persons in the state of Hesse

Further information on specific qualifications will be gladly provided upon request. Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may initially participate in the programme as guest auditors if admission to the HZB examination is granted.

In recent decades, the legal requirements in the business world have increased enormously. New framework conditions, additional regulations through European law, the international orientation of companies, and many other details have caused the demand for competent business lawyers to soar. The requirements remain very specific: on the one hand, the specialists must be very well trained legally, and on the other hand, they must have in-depth business management skills. Business lawyers are excellently qualified in both subfields and specialise in legal questions concerning the economic activities of companies, authorities and organisations both domestically and abroad.

Through the Bachelor's degree programme "Business Law" (LL.B.), you acquire the qualification in a 7-semester (online) distance learning course to take on tasks in legal departments of companies, authorities or consulting firms. You will specialise in business law and be comprehensively prepared for deployment in a legal field that is increasingly regulated. DIPLOMA offers you a distance learning course that has a very strong practical relevance for an attractive professional field. You will acquire extensive knowledge of legal sciences, business administration as well as specialist English and learn to convince through a strong communicative presence. Practical examples also allow for a vivid understanding and a scientific engagement with strongly business-related legal issues.

Course progression
At DIPLOMA University of Applied Sciences, you have the option to study the Bachelor's degree in Business Law as an online course.

The online distance learning course at DIPLOMA University is designed according to the "blended learning" principle. This means you work through the study content using study booklets and attend live online seminars. These usually take place on 12 to 14 Saturdays per semester – in individual cases also on weekday evenings. You can take your exams online or at an examination centre of your choice.

Costs & enrolment
The (online) distance learning course at DIPLOMA University starts each year in the summer semester (April) and winter semester (October). The start of the course – after individual examination – is also possible at any other time.
